SilkNQuick Kennel is run by Ginny Poffenberger, who discovered Silken Windhounds during an internet search for a possible Borzoi puppy. After searching all the Silken websites and researching the breed, one quick trip to Kristull Ranch in Austin to meet Silkens "in the fur" and my mind was firmly set on this breed and no other.

I founded SilkNQuick in July of 2003 when Kristull Charm SilkNQuick arrived from Francie Stull at Kristull Ranch in Austin. My second dog, Rennaisance Arctic Storm, arrived in April of 2004.

Silken Windhounds are a new sighthound breed founded by Francie Stull in the mid-to-late 1980's. The International Silken Windhound Society (ISWS) is currently working towards American Kennel Club (AKC) acceptance for Silkens.

Silkens are a great compromise in size and coat length for the sighthound enthusiast. They are small to medium sized but with a longish, easily maintained coat that comes in a variety of colors and patterns.

Silkens have a wonderful, calm, sweet temperment and get along well with a wide variety of people and animals.

Silkens enjoy all kinds of canine activities including: agility, lure coursing, service-therapy work, and doing whatever their owners like to do. Many Silkens also enjoy the water, these are commonly known as "swamphounds."
